The Green Wave Brass Band
The Green Wave Brass Band (GWBB) was founded in the fall of 2008 by Mark Lighthiser as a dynamic addition to the Tulane University Marching Band (TUMB). Currently under the direction of Mendel Lee, the group blends traditional brass band literature fused with a modern mix of styles that reflects the diverse background of its student membership. The result is a unique and signature sound, an exciting Tulane twist to a New Orleans classic.
The GWBB is a Glazer Club favorite at Tulane football games and performs regularly for numerous campus recruiting and sporting events. Off campus, the band has regularly been featured at the Rock N Roll New Orleans Marathon and Krewe Delusion, in addition to playing local restaurant and bar venues, weddings, festivals, corporate gigs, and parties. They've also performed alongside the New Orleans legend Wendell Brunious as a part of the Shakespeare 400 Festival in Stratford-upon-Avon, England, and they were featured in the second season of MTV International's show "The Brothers Green - Eats!".
The Green Wave Brass Band is a dynamic and diverse group of students that offers great musical entertainment that can spice up your event in a way that can only come from New Orleans.
