Were you in band in high school?  Do you want to continue that experience in college regardless of your major?  Then the TUMB is right for you!

The TUMB is a truly rewarding part of the Tulane collegiate experience.  As a TUMB member, you play a central role in not just the culture of Tulane but also of the greater New Orleans area.  From home football games at Yulman Stadium to Mardi Gras parades on St. Charles Avenue, from concerts to special events and community service, the TUMB will create memories and friendships that you will cherish long after you graduate. And it's just plain fun!

Membership is open to all Tulane students and most students attending other New Orleans area universities.  Our ranks represent the full spectrum of academic disciplines. Participation is contingent upon musical and physical abilities that will enable students to fully engage in the activity. Course credit is granted through the Newcomb Department of Music.

Interested in any of our Tulane Bands ensembles, including Concert Band, Green Wave Brass, or Shockwave Dance Team?  Fill out the form below!

Marching Band Scholarships are available to incoming freshmen, regardless of academic major. Additional scholarship money may be available based on quality of audition and instrumentation needs for the TUMB.  These awards are granted through the recruitment process with the Director of Bands.  Awards renew automatically every year that the student remains fully participating in the band program and is in good standing with the university.  For more information contact Director of Bands Barry Spanier at bspanier@tulane.edu or call 504-865-5139.

Any student of Tulane University and some other New Orleans area Schools can join the TUMB, regardless of academic major! Membership in the TUMB is open to all who are interested and a formal audition is used to determine placement within the ensemble. Auditions are best done in person but may also be submitted via online media. If you are planning a campus visit, we can usually accommodate your schedule to hold an audition/interview at that time.
