The TUMB offers one of the most rewarding endeavors at Tulane, to play a central role in campus life and to contribute to the culture of New Orleans.  Our local musical heritage sets the foundation for a collegiate experience that is absolutely unique. From home football games in the Louisiana Superdome to Mardi Gras parades, from concerts to special events, the TUMB performs throughout the academic year.

Membership is open to all Tulane students, plus other university students within the New Orleans metropolitan area that can fulfill all course requirements. Participation is contingent upon satisfactory musical and physical abilities that will enable students to fully engage in the activity. Course credit is granted through the Newcomb Department of Music by registering for #APMS 2183-01. Auditions are best in person, but can be submitted via audio or video media or online submission.  During the spring semester we also offer a community outreach service learning component, administered by the Center for Public Service.  Leadership opportunities abound for student participants in the TUMB.
